WHAT WE BELIEVE

Rooted in Scripture. Centered on Christ.

OUR BIBLICAL FOUNDATION

Dry Bones is a Christian men’s movement built on Jesus Christ and the Word of God. What we believe determines what we teach, how we live, and what we call men to become.

We may come from different churches, denominations, backgrounds, and traditions, but these are the biblical truths we stand on together.

1. The Word of God

We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God.

“All Scripture is breathed out by God…” — 2 Timothy 3:16

Scripture is God’s revelation to us and is the final authority for what we believe and how we live. We do not place culture, tradition, personal experience, or human opinion above the Word of God.

We believe the Bible as it is written. We do not add to it, subtract from it, or change its meaning to fit the culture around us. When our lives conflict with Scripture, it is our lives that must change.

2. God

We believe there is one true God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each Person is fully God, yet there is one God.

God is the Creator and Sustainer of all things and is sovereign over His creation.

“The LORD our God, the LORD is one.” — Deuteronomy 6:4

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” — Matthew 28:19

3. Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He became fully man while remaining fully God. He lived a sinless life and willingly died on the cross as the sacrifice for our sins. He was buried and physically rose from the dead on the third day.

Jesus Christ is not simply a teacher, moral example, or one way to God among many. He is Lord and the only Savior.

“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” — John 14:6

Our hope is found in Jesus Christ alone.

4. Salvation

We believe every person is a sinner and in need of salvation. Salvation cannot be earned through morality, religion, church attendance, baptism, generosity, discipline, or good works. It is the gift of God, received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” — Ephesians 2:8–9

Good works do not earn salvation. They are the result of a life that has been changed by Christ. We obey God not in an attempt to earn His grace, but because we have received His grace.

5. The Gospel

We believe the Gospel is the good news that Jesus Christ saves sinners through His death and resurrection.

The Gospel is not only how a man begins the Christian life. It remains central throughout the Christian life. Every man continues to need the grace, forgiveness, truth, and power of Jesus Christ.

No man is beyond the reach of God’s grace, and no Christian reaches a point where he no longer needs Christ.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.” — 2 Corinthians 5:17

This is at the heart of Dry Bones. We believe God can save the lost, restore the broken, strengthen the weak, humble the strong, and transform the life of any man who comes to Christ.

6. The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer and works in us to make us more like Christ.

The Christian life is more than changing outward behavior. God changes us from within through the work of His Spirit and calls us to walk in obedience to Him.

“Walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.” — Galatians 5:16

We depend upon the Holy Spirit for conviction, strength, growth, and perseverance as we follow Christ.

7. The Christian Life

We believe salvation is entirely by grace, but the grace that saves us also changes the way we live. Paul writes immediately after explaining salvation by grace:

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” — Ephesians 2:10

We are not saved by good works, but we are saved for good works. God calls Christian men to obey Him, pursue holiness, serve others, lead faithfully, make disciples, strengthen the local church, care for their families, carry one another’s burdens, and use their lives for the glory of God.

Every man has areas where he needs to grow. Every man needs other believers around him. Every man needs the Word of God. And every man needs Jesus. There is no stage of the Christian life where a man has arrived.

8. The Local Church

We believe the local church is God’s design for His people and is essential to the life of a Christian.

Dry Bones does not exist to replace the local church. We want to strengthen it.

We want men to be committed members of biblical churches where they worship, learn God’s Word, serve, build relationships, make disciples, and live under godly leadership.

Our goal is not simply to gather men at Dry Bones events. We want to see men become stronger followers of Jesus who return home better prepared to serve their families, churches, and communities.

9. Our Common Ground

Dry Bones will include men from different churches, denominations, generations, backgrounds, and stages of spiritual maturity. We do not expect every man to agree on every secondary theological issue.

But there are truths on which we will not compromise.

  • We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, authoritative Word of God.
  • We believe in one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, lived without sin, died for our sins, and physically rose from the dead.
  • We believe every person is a sinner in need of salvation.
  • We believe salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and cannot be earned by works.
  • We believe the Holy Spirit indwells believers and transforms our lives.
  • We believe Christians are called to obedience, holiness, service, discipleship, and perseverance.
  • We believe the local church matters.
  • And we believe every Christian man is called to follow Jesus faithfully for the rest of his life.

These beliefs are not simply statements we put on a website. They are the foundation of Dry Bones and the standard that will guide what we teach, what we promote, and the kind of movement we intend to build.
